Here comes the good news for the travelers in India who travels in train. The Indian Railway has recently announced new Tatkal ticket booking system. The Railway has introduced a number of instructions and measures to ensure Tatkal ticket booking system more passengers friendly. The decision has been taken to make sure that the touts and black marketers do not get much scope to take advantage of the Tatkal ticket system and they get less time to book tickets. The measures introduced would surely provide advantage to the genuine person in need of the ticket.

This decision has brought in a relief for the commuters who try their best to book a Train Tatkal ticket but the touts books the tickets and sell the same in a much higher price than what the Railway charges. The new booking system of train Tatkal ticket began on 10th July, 2012 and the authority has already instructed the zonal railways to make adequate arrangements in all reservation centers throughout the country.

Tatkal Train Ticket – Tatkal Ticket Rules

• Passengers can book Tatkal tickets from 10am to 12 noon at reservation counters throughout the country for the trains departing next day.

• Authorised agents of the Railway and IRCTC will not be allowed to book Tatkal tickets in period of time from 10am to 12 noon.

• Every ticket reservation centers will have a separate queue for the people who want Tatkal ticket booking.

• The Railway will install CC TVs to monitor the Tatkal ticket booking system at every reservation counter.

• The Railways has declared that one can book only four passengers on a single ticket in the newly introduced scheme.

• Railway and IRCTC agents can book only one ticket in one train per day after 12 noon. The first two hours the counters will serve the passengers only.

Tatkal Booking – Points To Be Kept In Mind

• Passengers must carry a self attested identity proof to book a Tatkal ticket under the present scheme and system.

• Only two tickets can be bought by a passenger booking tickets on internet between 10am to 12 noon in the present system of Tatkal ticket booking.
